Background
Justin Howell is a tattoo artist with approximately 20 years of experience, whose career grew out of a lifelong passion for drawing and painting. Influenced early by his father, a sign painter, Justin developed his artistic foundation long before entering the tattoo industry. His tattooing draws from a wide range of influences, with a particular appreciation for Japanese traditional imagery and its use of bold lines, color, depth, and perspective. After two decades behind the machine, Justin continues to approach tattooing as a craft that can always be improved. For Justin, the permanence of tattooing is its greatest reward: his artwork may never hang in a gallery, but it can remain with a person for the rest of their life. His philosophy is rooted in continual growth, respect for the artists who came before him, and the belief that an artist should never stop learning.

Background
Emily is a tattoo artist at Howell Tattoo whose work is rooted in an illustrative style with a particular love for black-and-gray tattooing. After learning the craft under the mentorship of Justin, Emily developed her approach through years of drawing, practice, and continued exploration of detail and depth. For Emily, tattooing is about more than creating art—it's about having the freedom to make art every day and create something lasting for another person. Her work has allowed her to express herself creatively while building a career around something that makes her genuinely happy.
